  • Nationally Certified Ultrasound Laboratory – The Healthcare Institute director, Richard L. Wright, M.D., is Board Certified and has a national certification (RPVI, registered physician in vascular interpretation). The sonographic laboratory is also certified nationally by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiographic and Vascular Laboratories (ICAEL, ICAVL). Our laboratory has years of experience in doing Echocardiographic studies, carotid artery studies, venous scans in both the upper and lower extremities and also arterial studies in the abdomen (aorta) and the arteries in the lower extremities. In most cases our facility can do urgent studies to rule out a specific diagnosis such as leg vein clots when you are having leg pain, swelling or tenderness that is concerning for a clot. You can reduce your risk of a life threatening venous clot in your legs with STAT sonographic studies that can usually be done within minutes of your arrival in the office. It is always a reminder that urgent symptoms such as shortness of breath and chest pain must be evaluated in an emergency room setting. It is also clear that other obviously dangerous conditions should be seen in an emergency room setting where there are trained physicians and staff to handle these emergencies.venus

Our technicians are certified in cardiovascular sonography, and have over 20 years of combined experience.Ultrasound imaging, also called ultrasound scanning or sonography, involves exposing part of the body to high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body. Ultrasound exams do not use ionizing radiation (as used in x-rays). Because ultrasound images are captured in real-time, they can show the structure and movement of the body’s internal organs, as well as blood flowing through blood vessels

An ultrasound-based diagnostic imaging technique used for visualizing subcutaneous body structures including tendons, muscles, joints, vessels and internal organs for possible pathology or lesions.
